Using Gather without an account

You can read the Bible, today's verse and devotionals without signing up. We create a random device identifier so the app can remember your settings and, if you allow it, send reminders. Highlights, notes and plan progress you make as a guest stay on your device until you create an account, when they are saved to it.
Location
LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED
If you choose to find churches near you, your device's location is used for that search only and is not stored unless you save a home area. You can always search by city instead.
Notifications and email
LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED
With your permission we send push notifications (for example your daily verse, plan reminders and updates from churches you follow) and emails. You control each category, quiet hours and frequency in Settings, and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
Prayer journal, notes and other private content

Your prayer journal, gratitude entries, fasting notes, sermon notes and Bible notes are private by default, encrypted when stored, never shared with churches and never used for analytics or advertising.
Community content
LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED
Prayer requests, testimonies, comments and group posts you choose to share are visible to the audience you pick (a church, a group or the public). We use automated checks and human moderators to keep these spaces safe, and keep reports and moderation decisions for safety and legal reasons.
Churches you join or follow
LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED
When you join or follow a church, that church can see your name and the fact that you are a member or follower. Churches see aggregated engagement only, never your reading, journal or prayer content. If your church uses Gather for attendance, children's check-in or follow-up, it controls that information and children's details are encrypted and visible only to authorised volunteers.
Giving and payment providers

Gifts, event tickets and other payments are processed by our payment partners (Novac, Paystack and Stripe). We never store your card details. We keep records of your gifts to issue receipts and statements and as required by law.
AI study helper

If you use the optional AI study helper, your questions and the passage you are reading are sent to our AI provider to generate an answer. We don't send your journal or personal notes, and you can delete your question history at any time.

Security
We apply administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No transmission method or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
